Runes is a new musical project made up of Dick Smith and Joseph Hayes from The Legacy and Andre Suergiu from Gold Kids. Five songs were recorded at Sleepwalkers Studio in Sardinia, Italy with Gabriele Boi in March 2010 and mastered by Cult of Luna’s Magnus Lindberg.

The S/T 7” featuring artwork from Black Sails Design is due to be released in the summer on Anchors Aweigh Records and will feature the three songs: Age of Enlightenment, Human, all too Human and New Old Wounds.

It's been a while since we've posted an update but we've been spending most of the time waiting to get the tracks back from the studio and tweaking them. These things take time but it's finally coming together.

All the tracks have been mixed and finalized. We need to send them off to get mastered and then we're done so expect a track to be on our myspace soon enough.

Originally the plan was to do 4 songs for a 7" but things never go as planned. We now have 3 songs to put on a 7" to be released in the summer on Anchors Aweigh records. Afterwards those 3 songs plus 2 others we recorded will end up on a CD.

We'll be touring Europe around the same time but we'll announce that shit when it's actually sorted.

We started mixing today, spent around five hours with Gabri at Sleepwalkers studio working on every single sound. I thought it was going to be easier to be honest but apparently even tough we only got five songs the whole process needs the right time to get it done properly.

I got back from the studio with a rough mix of the first song on the record then had a long fight with megaupload to send it over to Joey and it didn't work... luckly at the end MSN saved our day. Need to say we really satisfied, it sounds incredible and it's no finished yet.

Can't wait to work on the rest !

After the worst flight ever, Dick and I are back in the UK, returning to normal life again.

Just to update you on the record. We had to pretty much leave straight after doing vocals so we're waiting to hear the rough mix. When we get it, we'll probably need to make some changes, then get it mastered. So you'll just have to wait a while for the songs to be put online.

We don't want to be one of those bands that posts an unmixed or rough copy of the tracks. It's a waste of time. As impatient as we are for people to hear what we've done, we're only gonig to put them up when they're ready.

Just keep your eyes open.

We literally finished the vocals a few hours ago.

No sleep, sore throats and flyin back to the UK tomorrow.

Day Two of Recording

Today was the first day working on guitars.

Bass all finished real quick, and sounding dirty and most of the guitars have been tracked, but got to finish second guitar tracks tomorrow, then we can start thinking about extra shit on top.

We can really hear it taking shape today, and it sounds like its coming together how we hoped it would. We just got to wait til Monday, when we start recording the vocals. Touch wood, touch iron, touch Andres dick, as long as its hard and gives us good luck.

Day One of Recording

This is our first blog entry.

Just thought we'd start letting you know what's going on with the recording.

Today was the first day tracking at Sleepwalkers Studio, about an hour outside Cagliari, in the middle of nowhere.

Me and Dick got in yesterday morning after a sleepless night at the airport. Practsied all night then collapsed in bed.

After coffee, ciggarettes and a 9am practise session, Andre laid down the drum tracks.

Bass tomorrow and hopefully start on guitars. Will post again then.
